The 1936-1937 Sudbury Frood Tigers became the only local team ever to capture the Allan Cup, emblematic of Senior Hockey supremacy in Canada, beating the North Battleford Beavers three games to two in the national final. That team, which included the likes of Jim Dewey, Merv Chamberlain and George Hastie, also went on to capture the Toronto International Tournament that same year.
Miscellaneous: Because the rules of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association, at that time, did not allow for teams to be recognized with corporate sponsors, much of the historical references to the local squad will show as simply the Sudbury Tigers.
