Caroline Ehrhardt

Inducted: 2026

Caroline was born in Sudbury and grew up in Espanola. At age 11, she joined Track North Athletic Club in Sudbury, working with coaches Dick Moss and Darren Jermyn and later, jumps coach, Jim Taylor. Caroline’s mother Judy passed mere weeks after Caroline started with Track North. But her father Klaus continued to make the commute, making practice a positive light on the hardest of days.

To support Caroline’s focus on becoming Canada’s top triple jumper, Klaus built a jumping track and pit in their backyard. Caroline would become a 10-time national champion and the first Canadian woman to clear 14 metres outdoors, setting the Canadian record at 14.03 metres.

Notable highlights:

  • Set U Sport triple jump record in 2015
  • Won gold at the 2017 Jeux de la Francophonie
  • Holds a degree in health promotion from the University of Western Ontario and was a U Sports Top 8 Academic All-Canadian
  • Named head coach of Western’s track and field teams in 2025
  • Named U Sports men’s head coach of the year (2025-26) after Western men’s team won their second consecutive U Sports title

In grade 12, Caroline was awarded a full scholarship at the University of Oklahoma. After the coach left just prior to Caroline’s arrival, Caroline altered course to Western and their long-time coaches, Vickie Croley and Frank Erle. A career-ending ankle injury forced Caroline to retire in 2023, and she dove head first into coaching.

Caroline and her husband, Taylor, live in London, Ontario, with their dog Harvey.
